My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ace!
Hi humans! They call me "Boom Boom" Ace -- it's based on my "pimp" walk and a childhood injury. Let me explain! As a wee pup, I suffered a hard fall and broke my elbow socket. My humans at the time didn't really care for me, so it was never treated. Fast forward to today, and the vet dude says we should leave it as-is because a) people dig the strut; and b) it's next to a growth plate so it's just not worth the surgery unless it starts to bother me, which it hasn't! I take a joint supplement once a day which is super inexpensive.

I love playing and running and exploring. I'm super easy on leash, no point in that pulling business, I like to take my time. Foster mom barely has to hold my leash -- I like sticking next to her. Chicks dig my eyes -- I've got one blue and one brown!

My foster dog sister and dog brother are the best! We play a lot and then we sleep a lot and then we work on hand signals together. Oh yeah, foster mom and dad are pretty sure I'm deaf. Or at least partially because a train could roll through next to my crate and I wouldn't notice. No big deal. I learn super quick -- yep, I'm smart! I already know sit, stay, down, come and foster mom is working on "k" for kennel and "f" / "w" for food/water. Because I can't hear so good (or at all), it's a requirement that my forever family provides me with a fenced-in yard to keep me safe!

That's pretty much it about me. I'm a normal pup with lots of energy and I seriously love to snuggle! So, what do you think? Are you my forever family?! Contact Canine Cupids with any questions!

Ace’s adoption fee is $300 and he is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
