My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a Shelter Pull Kitty! This means that when you adopt me, FOF can save another kitty from a high kill county shelter.'

Will anyone love me again?
My name is Crystal and I am SPK from Genesee County. I was an owner surrender cat there but FOF does not get any more info than that. I was already spayed years ago, so I just got my routine vaccines and blood test. When I went to the vet, I was very, extremely scared. I had just had a long car ride the day before from Genesee to FOF. Then I was in a vet clinic where it smells funny and there were other cats getting surgery. So I did not make the best impression on the vet staff. However when I got back to my cage at the shelter, I curled up in my bed (they have really cozy beds here) and purred when someone petted me. Another thing. I have a microchip and even though it was followed up on, FOF didn't get a reply from the person listed as my owner. I was actually adopted as a kitten from a rescue in CT way back in 2008! Ending up in a high kill shelter 7 years later would make almost any cat lose their marbles. That is why 'owner surrender' cats often 'show' the worst in a shelter setting. We aren't used to all of the chaos and noise like many stray cats are. Strays come from outside. Most of them are used to change and can cope better. Some of them never even had a real home, so they don't know what they're missing. I do.
Just one more thing. When I was sleeping here at FOF, they snuck up on me and I could not hear their voice or even clapping. I may be deaf, which would add to my anxiety with all that's happened.
