Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This little cutie has already been through so much in her short life, but you couldn’t tell by meeting her. Peggy Sue is such a doll! Even despite the loss of her right eye, her face sparkles with the love she has to give. From her bright brown eye, to her adorable floppy ears, she is an old soul in a young dogs body. She is truly one of a kind. She is believed to be a Chihuahua mix and is a fairly small companion at around ten and a half pounds.
She is the perfect size to take everywhere with you!!
Peggy Sue’s story is quite sad for such a young darling. Ms.Peggy was dumped by her
owners at a shelter in Amarillo, TX while heavily pregnant; she was quickly placed into
foster care to give birth to her babies. It is clear from looking at her this was not her first litter of puppies, she was used over and over again to provide her owners with puppies for profit. One
can only guess what happened to this poor dog to make her loose her eye, and she has a
slight limp which is probably the result of being hit by a car at some point. As soon as Peggy
gave birth and her puppies were weaned she was returned to the shelter by her foster family
and immediately put on the euthanasia list solely because she didn’t have “the look”
adopters were after. Imagine, first you are thrown away by the people you went through
so much for in your short life, then you think maybe you have a chance after your puppies
are born only to be tossed away again.
Luckily, Rescued For Life heard of this little girl and stepped in to help her. She got her freedom ride from Texas to Colorado, and is blossoming with the love and safety of her foster family.
Peggy Sue has such a sweet nature about her. She is only about 3 years old, and has so much love to give to her new home. Despite all she has been through she is in surprisingly good health. She is potty trained as well as crate trained, but with this little girl who could leave that adorable face at home? She knows her basic commands and is good with other dogs, cats, and kids. She would be the perfect addition to a family with time and love to give, just like her. Will you be the one to show her she is worthy of a great life as a true member of the family instead of just an object? If you
