My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CARE is putting on a show to raise funds for our rescue horses! The CARE Benefit Horse Show will be at Rounds Ranch Arena in Bradley, SC, on July 15th, 2017. Our adoptable horses will be showcased, and your horses are invited to participate! We will be raffling off a football autographed by Dabo Swinney, head coach of the Clemson Tigers. More information about the show, the classes, times, and awards can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/490767607923824/

Lil Wonder is a 15.1 hand 12 year old TB mare. She originally came into our rescue 2 years ago very neglected. After vet care, a good diet and hoof care, and training, she is now healthy and sound. She has excellent ground manners and hauls great. She has been exposed to many disciplines including English riding (crossrails and dressage) but she has shown the most enthusiasm for barrels. Her current trainer says she's never seen a horse like barrels so much. She's been in barrel training just a few months and has been hauled to a few shows, where she has consistently improved in her speed. Though she loves to run, she is not a hot horse and an inexperienced rider can walk her around right after she runs with no problems. She has no alley issues. Wonder is a fun horse for a rider with a good seat - she does turn quickly around barrels so may unseat a beginner.
She's also a great trail horse - on a trail she will go whatever speed you ask and doesn't get hot. She will cross water, ditches, navigate steep hills, pony another horse, and rides out alone or with others. She has a solid walk/trot/lope in the arena and could be used for lessons for intermediate riders as well.
Wonder is barefoot with good hooves. We welcome a pre purchase exam at the buyer's expense. She's current on basic vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, Coggins current, and up to date on dental care. Our rescue is in Seneca, SC and Wonder is in training in Greenwood SC where she can be seen and ridden.
Adoption fee on Wonder is $3300 which goes towards providing care for the other horses in our rescue.
To meet / ride Wonder, please go to crossroadsanimalrescue.org and fill out an adoption application. This does not obligate you to purchase but simply gets you approved. Once approved, we will set up a time for you to try her out.
Wonder sells with a no breeding contract. New owner will have full ownership including right to resell if needed in the future.

Our horses have received their basic vaccinations (Rabies vaccine, EWT combo vaccine) at the time of adoption. They have been dewormed and have a negative Coggins test as well. All horses have received a hoof assessment and trimming. Horses are also microchipped.

We do our best to determine what amount of training they have had and to represent them as accurately as possible. However, we usually do not know the history of our horses, so we determine training by how the horses act after we get them. Please call ahead or email to set up a time to meet our horses if you are interested in adopting. They are at foster homes so we may need up to a couple days notice in order to schedule a time for you to see them.
We desire for our horses to find a good home where the horse will be a good fit with the person adoption him/her. With that goal in mind, we do our best to accurately represent everything, good and bad, with our horses.
CARE provides one week free boarding until you can pick up your new horse. Adoption fees are sometimes negotiable to the right home. For more information, please email us at drkathyjordan@yahoo.com You can see our adoption applications and and more info about our rescue on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org. To make the adoption process faster, please submit an adoption application through our website. This in no way obligates you - it simply gets you approved to meet/adopt our horses. You can also call us at 864-972-9994.
