My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruby is an 12 year old border collie. She is a healthy girl with plenty of pep in her step still. She is medium sized at around 45 lbs. Ruby looooves people, including kids. However since she is a quieter, mellow girl she would probably no longer enjoy a rowdy household with young children that wanted to try to play with her. Ruby does like toys and bones but also does a lot of napping. Ruby does well with new dogs after a transition period. She would prefer a home with mellow dogs or other seniors. If other dogs are too rowdy (and sometimes when they're not) she will start to herd them. She gets along well with 4 other seniors and 2 younger dogs in her foster home.

Ruby lived outside for most of her life. She now loooooves being indoors and will go outside to potty and then come right back in. She is now completely potty trained and does fine left out when her people are away. She is also crate trained and would probably like to have a travel crate (the kind with the hard sides) to hang out in occasionally with the door open. She chooses to spend a fair amount of time in her crate in her foster home. She does perfectly with cats.

Ruby seems to have a minor seasonal allergy, her eyes got a little itchy and goopy this spring. It doesn't seem to bother her much and it hasn't progressed beyond that. She has had a recent dental and a growth removed from her leg that was benign. She is microchipped, spayed, heartworm negative, dewormed, fully vaccinated and ready to meet her new forever family!
