My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Armani is a 7 year old male Yorkshire Terrier. He is sweet and cuddly and absolutely as cute as can be!

Armani was suffering from bladder stones when he was surrendered to JCAPL. He has undergone surgery to correct the situation, but the veterinarian recommendation is that he be maintained on a prescription diet to prevent a re-occurrence, for the rest of his life.

Armani was loved by his prior owner, but never given any boundaries. Unfortunately, the results left him being a brat! He can sit cuddled in a lap with his foster mom, but when dad approaches, he gets jealous and snaps out and bites at his foster dad. His foster parents are working hard on correcting his behavior issues and working with a trainer, but it won't be a quick fix.

He resents being crated and will urinate in his crate if left, but he is house-trained. He hates being left alone and has even bullied his large Labrador foster brother. He is also terrified in thunderstorms.

So in short, Armani will best be suited in a home with a single owner and no other dog to bully. We do not know how he is around cats.

We would prefer an adopter who is familiar with the breed and understands these traits and is willing to be patient and continue work with him, to help him be the best he can be.

Are you interested in adopting Armani or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524, or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Armani.

Thanks for thinking adoption!
