This is Musubi, a lovely young pup saved after she was left at a vet hospital to be euthanized because she has megaesophagus. We are searching for a very special, loving and dedicated home for her. Most people have probably not heard of this condition, yet it is more common than you would think - the national online megaesophasus support group has over 3,600 members. Gathering knowledge of this condition (from your vet, online resources, previous care of a dog with megasophagus, etc) will be critical to a successful adoption. Mega-e will require a vertical feeding method, but other than that, she is completely healthy and will be able to do play, hike, fetch, and do all of the things dogs do.
For all dogs under the age of 2, NWGSR requires German Shepherd experience and knowledge of the breed. ALL young German Shepherds need the proper training, socialization and leadership required for them to realize their potential and become the wonderful companions we hope for. Due to the nature of this breed, for safety reasons NWGSR does not adopt to homes with children under 8 years of age, or with dogs weighing less than 20 pounds. We also require a fully-fenced yard, with fencing a minimum of 5' tall. More information on these policies is available on our website.
