Hi, I'm Bremen and I am one of the first graduates of Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary's Best Paw Forward Training program. I know all the basic commands such as sit, down, stay, leave it, off, place, loose leash walking and sit to greet. My favorite play is to walk by my coach’s side and visit places all over town. It really works your focus and citizenship skills. I am ready for a forever home with an owner who is serious and consistent about continuing my training.
I am a special blend~ perhaps border collie, labrador and even some pit. I am loving and loyal and like to be with my human.

About Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary

About Our Rescue Group...

Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization & shelter rescue partner which serves to offer rescue, refuge, forever home adoptions, foster, medical care fund, and opportunities for humane education.

At Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary, our goal is to attract responsible pet owners and to help them provide permanent loving homes. To that extent, we ask potential adopters to give serious thought to the responsibilities of pet ownership. The ultimate goal is to attempt to match the animal with the most suitable home. All animals released from Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary are to be altered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, and provided with instructions regarding medical & nutritional needs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

If you are interested in one of our adoptable animals, please fill out an application form via our website. When your application is received, and we believe we have an animal which fits your profile, we will contact you to discuss your application further.

Due to high administrative workload please understand we are unable to respond to inquiries which are not accompanied by an adoption application.

Please note that given the volume of applications received, not every applicant will be matched with an animal. Submitting an application does not guarantee placement. We adopt our animals in a "Best Match, First Served" manner.

Find Adoption Application at our website: www.highergroundanimalsanctuary.org, "Adoption & Forms."

We are located in Mead, Washington on the Historic Green Bluff Farming Loop, and serve Northwest communities only. We are not able to ship or coordinate transport of animals outside of the Northwest states.

Most all of our adoptable animals reside not at the Sanctuary, but in Foster homes. Once your application is approved, a meet and greet may be set up with the foster family of the animal you have interest in.

See our website for adoption outreach events calendar.

Our Adoption Process...

Due to high administrative workload please understand we are unable to respond to inquiries which are not accompanied by an adoption application.

Adoption fee varies between $73.00-$730.00 depending on the animal (cats, dogs, farm animals, horses, etc), and includes spay/neuter, micro-chip, license, up to date on vaccinations, and provided with instructions regarding medical & nutritional needs. Potential adopters must complete an adoption application & contract agreement.

Animals which are not yet available for adoption may be fostered through our Foster-to-adopt program, in which medical & other expenses are provided by HGAS until the animal is ready to adopt. Application & Policy agreement must be completed to foster for Higher Ground.
