Here's what the humans have to say about me:
On May 8th, this sweet and handsome tuxedo kitten, along with his brother Tono and their mother Mermaid (2 years old), were placed into a box by one of their human family members and taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC). The three were placed in a cold metal cage together in a long, noisy, concrete hallway while their owner told the front desk that there was a newborn baby in the house and they couldn't keep the cats anymore. He mentioned that Mother Mermaid was very laid back and the three were good with kids and dogs. That day a veterinarian looked at them and decided that Mermaid and Tono were nice, healthy cats. However, Chato, had developed a kitty cold - so he was separated from his family and moved to a medical isolation ward, then to a foster home to get constant care.
On Sunday, May 29th, Mermaid was reunited with her son Chato at the foster’s house after 16 days apart. When they saw each other again for the first time they immediately touched noses in a greeting and then mom licked his head and proceeded to steal his soft bed! Chato didn't mind though, he sat on the floor next to her. Next they ate their dinner out of the same bowl. Chato started to eat more after his mom arrived and together they groom, snuggle, play, sleep, and watch birds out the window.
After all these two cats have been through, including a stressful period of separation, it would be so wonderful for them to be adopted together into a forever home with humans who will appreciate their unique qualities as well as the loving bond they have.
