Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Xaria is a very sweet girl, but needs special a home with little or no traffic. She was rescued from a puppy mill by her former owners and was obviously traumatized somehow. Once she knows and trusts you, you will not find a sweeter or gentler dog, With people she does not know and trust, she is terrified. It is not fear aggression, she just runs and hides. She will bark at anyone she doesn't know, but would rather hide than face them.
Update: Xaria has come a long way. She is still shy but warms up to new people if they are patient and offer her affection and treats. She is such a sweet girl, She loves to carry her kong toy around with her and loves her walks.
End Update
Name: Xaria
Age: 3 yrs.
Gender: Female
Mix/Purebred: Purebred
Housetrained: Yes
Crate trained: Yes
Heartworm Negative/Positive: Negative
Spayed/Neutered: Spayed
Micro chipped: Will be microchipped before adoption
Good with other dogs: Assessing
Good with cats: Assessing
Good with children: No, very shy
Xaria does get along fine with other dogs with proper introduction. She does not do well with small dominant females, but was fine with a small nice male in her former household. She will need someone who is willing to make several visits until she knows and completely trusts them before she can be adopted, and a quiet, calm household without many visitors or traffic, and probably no children, as children have friends over and lots of noise and activity. Please do not apply for her unless you can meet these requirements. Xaria is a sweet, loving girl who just needs the right owner and environment.
If you are interested in adopting Xaria and can meet all the requirements for this shy girl, please go to our website to complete our adoption application and someone will get in touch with you.
