My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're looking for a very low-maintenance companion that prefers your company, but won't be too overbearing, Marilyn just might be your girl! She is a 1.5 year-old, pleasantly stocky but small, short-legged tiger with big, round curious eyes. She is one of RCHS's mama cats who was taken in from a barn cat situation in the Spring, and now it's beyond time for her to find her happy home. She was initially very afraid and would often retreat to her hidey-spot, but now she is a happy, curious, and lovely little companion. She is very good at making friends with other cats, as long as they are good as well. She wants to play, is not aggressive, but also handles alpha-cats with ease. Marilyn's special characteristics are her sweet little 'trills' when she is interested in what you're doing, her evening chats (otherwise she is very quiet), and her lively perma-shocked expression! Marilyn is a cautiously shy, observant sweetie, who will display her pleasant and sometimes quirky disposition when she is comfortable with people she knows. She really enjoys the company of other cats once properly introduced, but given her cautious nature, might not enjoy dogs or a louder home. She did spend time with various foster cats needing to gain weight, so she added a bit too much herself. However, she is much more active with her new lease on life, and is starting to slim down again. Marilyn has made great strides in learning to be a pleasant, but not pushy, house-cat with impeccable manners and litter box habits. It's time for someone to give her a chance to be their little companion, and she'll happily return the favor once comfortable again.

All kitties go to their new owners spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and are negative for FIV/FeLV. The adoption fee is $75. If you are interested in adoption or have any questions, please contact info@rchsks.org.
