My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MOLLY is a 3 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 50 pounds. She is a sweet and shy girl who is learning what it's like to have TLC. She did a good job raising her puppies and is now enjoying the company of another dog in her foster home. She follows her around and learns from her. She will need to go to a home with another gentle dog who will continue to help her build her confidence. Molly is walking well with a harness. She is house trained. Molly is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (7/11): Molly has been doing good and is getting better. She did not really enjoy the fireworks last weekend, we used calming treats and put a thunder shirt on her. She and the resident lab sometimes run a little in the backyard but that's about it with playing. She went on a walk in the woods yesterday and she did pretty good and got her paws wet in the stream.

Update (6/29): Molly is doing great. She is waming up to us. My husband says she got up on to the couch and curled up next to him. She is a calm sweet dog and acts older than 3. Molly is a perfect house guest. She is not crated when we are gone. She likes to go into the crate with the door open to rest throughout the day.

Update (6/20): Molly is doing very good this week and has started to open up. We took her on her first walk and she did pretty good. She got startled once by a truck going by. She stayed close to The resident lab and would walk behind her. By the end of the walk her tail was starting to go up. She is coming up to us without hesitation and wagging her tail. She came in the living room and laid down for the first time when we were watching tv. She seems like she wants to play with The resident lab sometimes but that's as far as it gets. It is so good to see her wag her tail when you come up to her and when she follows us around in the house and in the backyard. It's taken her 2 weeks, but she has finally started to come around.

Update (6/15): Molly has been slowly but surely coming out of her shell. She will let us walk right by her now and her tail is wagging when we come home and she will come up and sniff our hand. She sleeps on her dog bed in the bedroom. She is totally comfortable in the house and we will try to give her a short walk soon if it cools down. The bedroom is her safe place and she likes to hang out in there to get some quiet time like when we are watching tv. She still has a ways to go before she will willingly accept love and affection but she has already made many strides. She will make a great addition to a family that is willing to be patient and give her the time and attention she needs.

Update (6/12): We have been fostering Molly for a week now. She is so sweet. She is such a good girl, just hanging out and recovering from being spayed, having Lyme disease, and an ear infection. Molly is 100% house trained, has not had any accidents, does not chew anything, and does not bark or whine. She is timid but enjoys being brushed and having her ears rubbed. She will walk behind you on a leash. Molly gets along fine with our dog. They don't play together but Molly will sometimes follow our dog in the house and yard. Molly would do best in a quiet household with someone who will help her become less timid by introducing her to new things slowly and help her build her confidence.
.
Note: Molly comes from a rural area and needs to go to a home in a quiet neighborhood with a fenced yard, not invisible fence. Not suitable for apartment/condo/townhouse living because the noises will startle her.
