Here's what the humans have to say about me:
“Cowboy” is quite a handsome devil and was also quite a handful when we first met him at a local shelter! He was surrendered by his previous owner because they did not have any time for him. For nearly a year, he was alone in his backyard getting into mischief, i.e. barking, digging and running away because no one was paying any attention to him. When people came out to see him, he was so desperate for attention, all he did was jump up on them because he wanted to be petted and get some attention.
Despite his gorgeous Golden Retriever good looks, he has the drive and personality of the Australian Shepherd. He’s a quick learner, very smart and eager to please but would do best with someone who has previous dog handling skills. He loves to play fetch and lay in your lap for belly rubs, but is also eager to chase anything that’s willing to play his “herding game.”
Cowboy loves people and dogs but we believe he would do best in a home without very young children and cats.
He has a few more weeks in our training program and will be ready for his forever home on Friday, June 26th. Please contact us today if you would like to meet “Cowboy.”
