Mochi's Story...
Mochi is a small, 6 year old sesame male Shiba Inu who has only ever lived with one family. His pawrents love him very much but they have to travel a lot with the military so they asked DC SIR to place him in a pawfect forever home. His family said he loves meeting new people and going to new places, especially on walks outside; he is a bit shy with strangers and can be reactive with children. He can go on group hikes with other dogs and find nice playmates; however, he can’t live with other dogs or go to dog parks. DC SIR would like to do a thyroid panel on him so please consider donating to them with a note for “Mochi’s fund.”

No dogs or young children; cats TBD

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mochi, a Manassas Shiba Inu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu for sale in Manassas, or seeking a Shiba Inu dog from a breeder in Manassas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manassas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manassas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu breeders who help with Shiba Inu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manassas paves the way for another one to be saved.
