BRUE LYNN - ADOPTION PENDING's Story...
Little Brue Lynn is an adorable smooth coat Brussels Griffon, just full of personality. Once she trusts you, she will follow you wherever you go, and cuddle with you every chance she gets. When we first rescued her she was very fearful of everyone and everything. She has come such a long way since then and loves attention from her female care givers now. Like many Griffs, she has a sense of humor and gets all goofy showing her tummy for scratches. Cute as a button, she gets a lot of attention when we go for walks. Brue does expect to sleep in bed with you at night!

Brue needs a female primary caregiver who is retired or works from home and has experience with toy dogs that have BIG personalities. She is reliably house trained if she is given the opportunity to go outside every 2-3 hours. Otherwise, she will have accidents in the house. Brue is fearful of being picked up so must always be approached slowly. She had corrective surgery for luxating patellas and does not navigate stairs well or jump onto the sofa, but she loves running around outside (see video). She is an exceptional travel buddy, content to quietly hang out in her kennel on road trips. Brue Lynn gets along well with other small dogs (except alpha females) and will sometimes play with them once she gets to know them. However, her primary focus in life is her female caregiver!

Brue Lynn’s forever home must have a very securely fenced yard and no children or large dogs. She must always be securely harnessed and leashed when outside a fenced area and crated or seat belted in the back seat when in a vehicle. She will bark at noises and visitors (especially men and children) so apartment life is not recommended. Brue loves walks and does well on a leash, but sometimes barks at people you meet along the way. She tolerates cats, but if they get too close to her she may snap at them.

Her birthday is January 1, 2008 and she weighs just 8 pounds. Griffs are a very long lived breed so she has many healthy, active years left to share her love with you. She is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, micro chipped, heartworm negative and taking preventative. She also had a full dental, as well as corrective surgery for a grade 4 luxating patella. Brue Lynn is being fostered near Lemont Illinois and we prefer to place her within a short driving distance. Our dogs may never be shipped in cargo and we do not transport them to adoptive homes. They are never placed in homes with invisible (electric) fencing. Doggy doors are OK as long as they are secured at night and when you are gone. Brue is small enough to be carried away by a hawk, owl, coyote or other predator so may never be left outside alone.

You may submit an adoption application for Brue Lynn at http://www.abgra.org/. Questions may be emailed to abgrauppermidwest@yahoo.com but please read her story first.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BRUE LYNN - ADOPTION PENDING, a Lemont Brussels Griffon dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Brussels Griffon for sale in Lemont, or seeking a Brussels Griffon dog from a breeder in Lemont.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lemont already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lemont breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Brussels Griffon breeders who help with Brussels Griffon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lemont paves the way for another one to be saved.
