My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Ava Grace and I'm 8 years young. I am very easy to get along with and won't ask for much but lots of love. I like other dogs and kids but don't know if I've ever met a cat. I would probably be fine with cats because I am very laid back. I don't bark when the other dogs do. I like to chew on approved items but don't really play with toys or balls. I don't chase squirrels and birds like my foster sisters. I love to sunbathe, inside or out and also like to munch a little grass or bird seed for some reason.

I'm spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, with just one little health issue. My mom took me to the emergency vet when I wasn't feeling well and they discovered I'm diabetic. I tried to tell her it wasn't the end of the world, but Mom couldn't handle it so she left me there and asked them to find me a good home where they will take proper care of me. Really it just means you have to give me a shot twice a day after my meals. Not a problem for me at all, but I can't do it on my own so I need a good mom and/or dad who isn't afraid of needles. I love to eat but need to watch my diet so as not to upset my blood sugar. Only veggy or protein snacks for me. My foster mom gives me scrambled or hard boiled egg for a snack before bed and I love them.

I've liked every person and dog I've met and though small, always step up and introduce myself. I do shake now and then when in a new situation but when I realize all is fine, I curl up and go to sleep. I sit quietly at the vet and watch the other pups who are upset and try to show them that there's nothing to be afraid of even for a little like me. I'm about 12 pounds and would like to lose a pound or so to recover my girlish figure. Overall I'm just an excellent companion who would bring no drama to your life, just love and someone to keep your lap and bed warm. Won't you be the answer to my prayers for a furever home and family? I'm waiting just for you!!!!
