Alfie is a 10 yr. old distinguished gentleman, black & tan Manchester Terrier/miniature pinscher mix. He survived living in the shelter for an unbelievable 6 months, thanks to him winning over the staff who fought to keep him alive! Alfie is gentle, affectionate and still has enough energy to happily enjoy his short walks around the neighborhood. His hind legs have become much stronger while taking his daily supplements and now getting proper nutrition. He is housetrained, crate trained (he LOVES his den) and gets along well with other dogs & even mellow cats. He needs a blanket over his crate to help him feel comfortable and safe. Adoption fairs are stressful on him though, and he shows better one on one in a quiet environment. He is good with kids and strangers. Alfie's ideal home would be with a retired couple or low-activity family where he can enjoy lazing about in his crate or watching Sunday football cuddled up next to you on the sofa!
