About Me:
Howdy everybody! You probably recognize me as one of the dachshunds that my POET family rescued from a dog hoarder. I used to be very sad crated all day, and with little time to play. Things have changed though now!
Of the doxies that POET rescued, I was one of the worst. I was covered in dried poop and pee, and my nice long fur was mostly yucky mats. I got a bath, and I was so happy to be clean, but the groomer couldn’t save my fur, and I had to be shaved down. I didn’t mind though, because I am just happy to be free.
I need to go home to a family that already has a doggy friend for me, as I need a confident dog to help me gain confidence in myself. Because of where I came from, I am desperate for human attention, and nothing makes me happier than being by my foster parents. I get a little upset when I am not near my humans, so crate training is still in progress. Little kids tend to scare me just a little, so I would prefer a family that does not have them, or that has older kids who would be gentle with me. I have never been outside before, so I am getting used to this wonderful thing called grass. I don’t quite get going potty on it, but I am doing my best to learn to use it to go potty instead of in the house.
