Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Grayson, although cruelly shot in the face, is one of the most sweetest and beautiful dogs we have rescued. He is approx 1-2 years old and 50 lbs. This sweet dog was shot in the face at a fairly close range. Our vet did two surgeries on him. to remove the injured teeth and close a hole in the top of his mouth, and the second surgery to close the wound on the side of his face where he was shot. One of his eyes is totally blind. We took him to the eye vet who said that at this time he would not remove the eye, but it is possible that someday it may need to be removed. The good news is that his other eye is clear and he has great vision in that eye.. Through all of his surgeries, he has been the sweetest dog, he loves to roll over on his back for belly rubs and loves being with people. He likes attention, so for that reason, and although he is fine with other dogs, we would recommend he have a home to his own. He is still a puppy in some ways now that he has come out of his shell in foster care and needs a loving home with someone who can take him on nice walks and let him sit on the couch with them. He is trained to an electric fence. He is pretty well house trained, but still working on 100%, but close. He needs a home where he can live without being crated. We are not sure what type of dog he is but he has the most gorgeous colored coat a soft brown/gray..The vet thinks he is a Chesapeake bay retriever mix.
If you live in MA, there are new requirements for rescue dogs - according to the State Law, all rescues have to be quarantined for 48 hrs at the Ben Elder Kennels in Westport, MA. There is additional cost for this quarantine and new required health cert by a licensed MA vet of $110. We will go over all fees with you via email. Also, The state of MA does not allow adoptions of dogs that are heart worm positive. We are required to do a foster to adopt until the dog tests heart worm negative, usually in 4-6 months after treatment.
