Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Lani and I'm about 7 months old. My foster family is not sure what breed I am but some of the guesses have been Coon Hound due to my color and maybe Boxer because of the shape of my face and body, however I am not very big so there must be something smaller mixed in there. Some people say "Rescued" is their favorite breed - I know I'm rescued! Sadly, I've had a very difficult time as a puppy. I was so afraid of people that I would go to the bathroom if someone tried to pet me. But Saving Grace took a chance on me and after two months of being with my foster families I have not only learned to like people but once I get comfortable with you I will cuddle with you. I do not do very well by myself so I do need to be in a family that already has a brave, friendly, lovable dog. I don't mind cats or rabbits at all! There's even a photo of me with one of the cats as we snuggle. My foster family has them and I just ignore them. I'm learning commands and am now house trained (unless something really scares me, like the leash and then I may have an accident out of fear, but I'm working on that, I promise). I am still learning how to ride in a car and walk on a leash. These things are scary to me therefore a home with a secure, fenced yard is a MUST. I would love a forever home with a family that is patient and has a semi quiet household. While I seem to warm up to strangers quickly, a lot of chaos still scares me. Children should be older as the sudden movements of younger kids scare me. Also, if they accidentally leave the door open I could get away and find myself lost again. I NEVER want that to happen again! Even though I am scared of a lot of things, I do not bite out of fear like some dogs. If you can get past my fear and you have the patience to wait for me to warm up to you, I promise to love you and give you kisses and snuggles. Would you want to take a chance on me? I promise you won't regret it!
