My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* Adoption Area * Adoption Application *

What a little cutie pie! Tippy is a sweet and social Cairn Terrier mix weighing in between 12 & 13 lbs and only about 6-8" tall. He's a low rider! LOL He loves to play with other dogs, large and small, and gets along fine with our cat as well. He's not fully housebroken yet, but is crate trained and doesn't mess in his crate. We believe he lived as an outdoor dog before coming into foster care, so he's learning about where it's appropriate to potty. Continued housebreaking training will be needed in his adoptive home. In addition to thoroughly enjoying play time with Rapunzel (hint, if anyone's looking to adopt 2 small dogs, these two make a great pair!), he also really enjoys laptime with humans.

He is not high energy but is always ready for play time with another dog. So far no destructive behaviors noted in foster care. And for the most part he's a pretty quiet dog. We'd love to see him in a home with a fenced yard and another smallish dog who likes to play. He'd be in doggie heaven in an environment like that!

He doesn't like to share his food with other dogs, so we just feed him in his crate. He'll also steal food from the other dogs, but crating during meal time is an easy workaround for this. He's very good at just hanging out in his crate until the other dogs finish eating.

Original shelter bio:   Tippy was turned in by his owner on 7-21. He looks like a Cairn Terrier mix, and is very cute and friendly. He also seems to be good with other dogs & cats. Tippy belonged to an elderly woman who couldn't care for him anymore. Her family lives near a busy road, and they were afraid he would get hit by a car if they kept him. Tippy is around 3 years old.

We are not a shelter. Our dogs are fostered in a home environment. All meetings are by appointment. If you are interested in meeting or possibly adopting this dog, please check that you are located within our adoption area and then submit a completed application to begin the process. Incomplete or out-of-area applications will not be processed.
