Darby's Story...
Sweet Sweet Darby needs a loving home. She was surrendered because she was being attached by the family dog. She gets along with other dogs, but should go to a home with a large male. She is 2 yrs old. She is still at the shelter. Please call the Shelter in Hughsville, MD at 301-932-1713. She looks like a wonderful gal and we would bring her in if we had a foster home for her in Baltimore, Maryland area. Call the shelter directly for now. We will try and pull her and get her into a wonderful loving home soon. If you are interested in this wonderful dog, please call me Dawn at 610-787-2353.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darby, a Pittsburgh St. Bernard/Newfoundland dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard/Newfoundland for sale in Pittsburgh, or seeking a St. Bernard/Newfoundland dog from a breeder in Pittsburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard/Newfoundland breeders who help with St. Bernard/Newfoundland rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
