My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maddie is an extremely sweet, loving 3.5 year old rough coat Saint Bernard.  She is a petite Saint weighing 85 pounds and often referred to as “little peanut”.  She loves people and is very good with children.  She wants nothing more than to please her family and be around people.  She listens very well and comes immediately when called and sits for her food and treats.  When she sees you she will immediately grab a toy, fall on her back, and want to have her belly rubbed.  Maddie has been in foster care with her brother for more than a year.  They get along very well from the first time they were put together.  They are constantly running around chasing each other and taking toys from each other.  We had a female Saint (Chloe) prior to getting Maddie.  Chloe was the alpha dog of our three Saints.  Her and Maddie did not get along.    There was never anything bad, just dogs trying to establish their pecking order in the house.  Regardless, we kept them separated most of the time.  This is the only caution we have about Maddie.  She is one of the best dogs we have ever had.  She absolutely loves people, especially kids.  You can do anything to her.  We (adults and children) have stuck our hands in her food, and messed with her while eating and playing and she has never responded in any negative way.  She wants nothing more than to play when you want to play, otherwise she is extremely satisfied wandering around and sleeping.  She is not a dog that runs around like a little puppy or that you have to worry about taking things or going potty in the house.  She is very well trained to go potty outside and has no problem telling you she has to go.  If your looking for a well trained family dog then she is a perfect fit for you.  We think she loves the attention of people far more than other animals so it is our opinion she would be best suited in a home where she is the only pet.   Maddie is UTD on all shots and vet visits.
