Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DOB April 1, 2009
Rupert (originally named Sylvester) is a stunning long haired tuxedo fellow who arrived at TCR as a wounded stray. Thanks to a caring veterinary team, his wounds have healed and he is ready to find his home. He has an incredible love for all kinds of food, and will reward you with endless snuggles and purrs. He loves sleeping at the foot of your bed and curling up beside you on the couch when enjoying a good movie. He will even answer to his nickname, Mr. Handsome.
Rupert has spent his time in a foster home where he made plenty of new cat friends that he gets along with, but he prefers to have his one-on-one time with his human companions. He gets nervous in new surroundings, particularly with the introduction of unfamiliar pets, so it would be best if he went to a home where he was the only King.
Rupert has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV+ cats can live long happy lives with a good diet, low stress, indoor homes, loving families, and annual vet check-ins. He does not require medication. He can live in a home with other non-FIV+ cats, as the virus is only passed to other cats by blood (ie. deep bite marks), though Rupert prefers to be the only feline in the home. Please do not judge him based on a blood test! Mr. Handsome also has a permanent leg injury to which he will walk with a limp for the rest of his life. He will need some extra help keeping his eyes clean, but he improves every day with Lysine and Multi-Vitamin treats, which he loves!
Rupert is a unique character who will make a great addition to any home. Will you give him the second chance he deserves?
