My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In 2009 "CASEY" was about 2 years old and weighed 9 pounds when he had been found as a stray and taken to the Animal Humane Society. His family never came forward to claim him, so he was adopted by a loving senior couple.

Recently Casey's dad died and his mom went to assisted living. Casey then went to live with their adult son and his wife. But with their 6 active children and busy family life, Casey was not happy there.

Instead of returning Casey back to the "Pound", the family asked Picket Fence Poodle Rescue to help their beloved Poodle find a "forever more" family.
Thank you, James.

Now at 10" tall, this apricot Toy Poodle came to us weighing an unhealthy 15 pounds. Even though he is obese (more to love), we know that with limited amounts of quality dog food, treats and daily walks (which he just loves), he will lose this weight.

He now weighs 13 pounds I just love this boy! VERY active, alert, smart, sociable and outgoing who just loves everyone!

What a special boy too! Casey has a list of 19 things he can do, including: sit, shake hands, kennel, couch, come and so on! What a smart boy.

He also will clean our home, do the laundry, wash the dishes. O.K. Exaggerating here. Just wanting to see if you're paying attention. But he does love to sit in my lap and has now moved into bed with us while preferring to sleep on Mike's side of the bed.

Casey is active, alert and sociable. He also just LOVES men and gets excited when he hears Mike's semi-truck pulling into our driveway.

This is a very nice Poodle and one of the few Poodles who I trust in my home to run freely, even when I'm not home. Such a good boy!!

Casey is not the prettiest Poodle you've ever seen. He looks more like your grandma's Poodle: long on body, short on legs. He may also be a Poodle cross.

Casey is not talking about his parent's, but keep in mind that he comes with personality plus!

For some reason, he loves to be in his kennel, so this needs to be monitored. Example: Grab a leash and watch him come running to you.

Our Vet removed some of the fatty growth on his chest to determine it was ONLY fat and not cancerous. Stitches on his front bulge of fat have been removed.

Blood work and a "T4 test" at our Vet showed that there is NO thyroid problem so that is not the issue. Casey is very healthy, just over-fed and too inactive.

Casey is neutered, up to date on his shots, wormed and Home Again micro-chipped. His teeth have been cleaned, heart-worm tested negative and has been placed on a preventative.

His $250.00 (plus $18.00 Mn state sales tax) helps pay for some of his Vet work. Also included is his kennel, a blanket, a bag of quality dog food, dog dishes, treats, leash, collar and lots of information to help your adoption start on the right paw forward.

Casey is enjoying being with Spencer and George, but really prefers to be adopted as an only dog. He likes it when our grand-children come to visit and will play with him, but also likes it when they leave.

Please contact us if you would like Casey's "Application For Adoption".
