My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Baxter is a playful 1.5 year old lab mix that was recently adopted and returned. He did not get along with the other dog in the family. He is in training with lots of other dogs and is learning to get along with other canines. Baxter loved the older kids but played too rough with the younger ones. He has never been around cats. The family said he was good with his house training and had some obedience training. Once Baxter returns from training, he will be the perfect pet.

On July 2, 2015 Baxter was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. He is now at the Grafton Correctional Institute for 10-12 weeks or more receiving training in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking.

If you are interested in adopting this prison dog, adoption applications are now being accepted. This dog will be returning to Friendship in a few weeks so get your adoption app in ASAP. You can find an app at friendshipapl.org under ADOPT-FIND A FRIEND. Hand deliver the app to Friendship or call if you live a distance away to see if you can fax one in. Please do not email the app.

If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321. Or email at adoptions@friendshipapl.org.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
