Paris's Story...
Paris was a 'special project' since she was offered on WV buy, trade or sell at a 'reduced rate.' The children in the family (who live in Gallipolis, OH) had tired of her and she had been put outside to live. The temperatures had become single digits, and so Bobbie paid $50 for her, Dreama paid for her grooming and boarding, and Lou Ann and Jenny of the ARF group fostered her. She was obtained on Feb 1, and we quickly found that she was in heat. She was quickly grabbed up by rescue, even before her posting, and other rescues were interested from my Facebook posting of her. She's a very sweet dog, gets along with other dogs and kitties, is one year old, and weighs 16.8 pounds. She had her rabies shot on 2/2 and will be going to the vet on Thursday for the rest of her vetting. We are thrilled this baby is no longer in the frigid weather except to potty and come back by the fire!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Paris, a Ripley Standard Schnauzer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Standard Schnauzer for sale in Ripley, or seeking a Standard Schnauzer dog from a breeder in Ripley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ripley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ripley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Standard Schnauzer breeders who help with Standard Schnauzer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ripley paves the way for another one to be saved.
