ADOPTION FEE $300
Perfect Patty, per her DNA test she is an American Bulldog/Boxer mix. She is hands down, the absolute best dog that has ever come through my program. Patty has grown up her entire life with us now in rescue. We saved her at 12 weeks old from an abusive owner. Patty has yet to meet a person, dog, or cat that she would not play with and love. She has zero issues, well mannered, off leash trained. I have had her since she was three months old and never had inquiry on her. Patty has nothing but love to give everyone she meets. She is a remarkable dog and needs a remarkable forever home to love her like I love her. She loves to go hiking, dog parks, the beach, or just be by your side watching TV. If you want a dog that you will never have an issue with, this is it. DOB 12/10/13
You must have Guardian breed experience to adopt a Guardian breed from us. You must have Bully breed experience to adopt a Bully breed from us. Please tell us about your's when contacting us. We do not ship our dogs, you must come to our location in Sylacauga AL 35151 to meet them and for us to meet you. At that time we will go over all training of your new dog so, please plan on being here a minimum of one hour.
Our screening/application process is listed here, http://www.soldiersforstrays.org/awaiting-discharge---al-location.html
Our screening process is not negotiable, it is set in place to protect our dogs, you the general public, and your current pets and children. If not willing to provide all of the information to ensure the safety of the dog you are inquiring about then please do not waste our time contacting us. If it states the dog cannot be placed with other dogs, then no other dogs, your dog is not the exception just because your dog is friendly and loves everything. The dogs we take in are on their last stop when coming to our rescue. They have been turned down or failed by other rescues for behavior issues and come to us for rehabbing. While we do not place aggressive dogs back in the general public, we give them sanctuary, not all dogs can peacefully live in a home with another dog. All dogs have been with us for a minimum of 30 days prior to being considered for adoption.
Our adoption fee's are nonnegotiable. The adoption fee does not come close to covering the care of the dog while with us however, the fee goes towards helping the next dog in need. If you cannot afford or are unwilling to pay the fee listed for a fully vetted, fully trained dog then you are not the home we are looking for, for one of our dogs.
We do not foster out our dogs, thank you but please do not ask to foster. We do not feel it is in the best interest in our dogs to be moved around from one home to the next. When they leave us they are going to their forever home.
All of our dogs come crate trained, leash trained, basic obedience trained, and are house broken. We back our dogs for life and will provide free training for them at our location if a behavior issue occurs, even 10 years from date of adoption. They are UTD on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, double microchipped. They are HW- and on prevention for HW's as well as flea & tick medication. In the event they are HW+ (the ad will state if so) we provide all medication to treat plus cover all medical related to until such time they receive two negative test results. HW treatment is noninvasive and simply giving oral medication cures the disease, it is nothing like it use to be.
Appearances can be deceiving. When in doubt about a breed or breeds of a dog, we do a DNA test. It will come with the dogs medical records at the time of adoption.
All of our dogs are on a raw diet, we do not use commercial dog food and we cannot recommend it. It is all bad for dogs, all of it, no matter what it cost it is killing dogs. Just Google the rendering process from which dog food is made. Per our contract our dogs must remain on raw. It is very easy, cheaper than a high end grain free, and will keep your dog healthy and he/she will live years longer.
