My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

8/22/15 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $325

Fostered in Louisiana

Age: 5.5 years

Weight: 4.4 lbs.

6/29/15 - The results of Daisy's mass that was removed are "benign adenoma". We are so excited. She also got her teeth cleaned today and is up and fixing to go home. Now to just work on growing out that hair and looking for a permanent home.

6/26/15 - Daisies are simple yet sophisticated and are some of the most beautiful flowers in the floral world. A Daisy symbolizes innocence and new beginnings. With that being said, it was clear to my foster mom that Daisy should be my name.

I obviously had a name before, and a family or two or three, but that was all in the past. When I was brought into the SPCA to be surrendered, I was shy, fearful, overbred, undervetted, malnourished and broken. When I entered the shelter, I thought I would be crossing over to rainbow bridge. I never dreamed that that would be the first day of the rest of my life. That is when it all turned around for me.

The shelter reached out to Yorkie Haven Rescue for me and now I am in a foster home with a great foster mom and a fur sister. I’m kinda new here and just getting my bearings about me. Previously, I was not treated nicely and bred for money. Here I get regular baths, twice daily meals, talked to sweet, loved on, kissed on, belly rubs, etc. I think I did cross over to the bridge and wound up in yorkie heaven. Going in for my dental Monday. Seems my teeth aren’t something to smile about.

I’m working on my potty training and will use the bathroom when brought out regularly. I’ve also been seen using the potty pad, but please do expect mistakes in my new home until I get on a schedule. I’m eating very well and will even move the other pup in the home out of her dish so I can steal her food. This might need to be watched in my new home because I hear that this can sometimes start some puppy disagreements.

I’ve never slept in a human bed before, so we are working up to that gradually. Currently I’m content to sleep in a bed by your bed, but foster mom is working on graduating me to the bed. She just doesn’t want me to jump off since I’m not very secure up there right now.

I love toys and can get a little protective over them. Foster mom is teaching me to share, or at least not get witchy when I have them and another dog walks by. Lol You know us yorkies, give us an inch, we take a mile.

I’m a cute little girl who obviously is in the process of growing her locks out. Seems my wig wasn’t so pretty when I came in so all my mats had to be cut and evened out which left me with this crew cut. Don’t worry though, I remember what I looked like and I will be gorgeous with hair.

When I was spayed, I had a growth that the vet removed and has sent off for a biospy. I’ll let you know the results as soon as they are back in.

I’m co-existing fine with the other fur baby in the house, but foster mom is still accessing my personality to see if I will need to go to a home with another pup to play with, another pup to co-exist with, or a home with no pups.

So, please check back in because we will be adding to my bio with updates that you are sure to need before you fill out that application to adopt me.
