Schroeder's Story...
Update 9/25/2015: Schroeder is now Canine Good Citizen ready! He made his event debut today and loves everyone he meets--human and canine. His old photos had to come down for his "I'm a Grown Up Now" photos. Schroeder is a sweet, confident boy who loves attention--he's also the smartest guy in the program and a staff favorite. Schroeder has really come into his own in the past few months in the Pen Pals program and is ready for his forever home.

At only a year and 50lbs, he's the perfect young age for a fun loving, active family. He would do best with another dog companion or children 8 years and older to play with. He will need outlets for his puppy energy: fenced yard, dog park or doggie day care! Schroeder will make an excellent companion for some lucky adopter!

Schroeder is receiving obedience training at a Virginia correctional center. To learn more about the Pen Pals program, please visit our website at www.fetchacure.com. If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website, click on the "Pen Pals" tab, fill out the application under "Adoption Process" (scroll down to bottom) and fax it to 804-525-2193 or email it to sarah@fetchacure.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Schroeder, a Richmond Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
