HOUSE/ YARD INFO:
Is this animal a house pet? Yes – but should not be living in an apartment type home – should have a safe yard, have more access to be outdoors for exercise/ play etc.
Is the animal housetrained-Yes
Does the animal ever have housetraining issues? Barking/ excited when people are present. Loves to talk and wants to be part of everything and meet everyone.
Does the animal chew or scratch household items? Yes- d/t her boredom and having too much energy and not having as much access to release her energy. She is also young and a puppy still.
Does the animal dig holes? Yes when we visit family who has space.. and she runs and has fun
Does it try and get over or under fences? No- currently live in a condo
Does it get into the garbage? No- no temptations are left.
Is the animal crate trained? yes
Where is the animal kept during the day? Cage
Where is it kept at night? Condo/exercise outside
How long is this animal generally left alone in a day? 9 hours
Is it ever kept outside, and if so, for how long ? No –never alone. She wants to be with us, and its unsafe to leave her unsupervised.

Is it used to being chained or kenneled or running free? Kenneled when no one is home – but also needs a safe area out doors for play- running
Have you ever boarded the animal or had a pet sitter out of your home environment? No
Does it chase after cars, or horses and buggies or bikes or people?- Yes herding -Yes to all except horses

Does the dog play games? Yes
What commands does it know? Sit, settle, paw/other paw, roll over, come, stay

Has it been enrolled in obedience training?
Yes – pet smart and personal at home help

EXPOSURE/ CHILDREN INFO :
How does the animal react to strangers? Depends on situation – for most part harmless- Excited/ barks… will nip/ herd to get attention .Yes barks at door knocking
She pulls at times on leash to get to what she is interested in. Loose leash walking still needs to be worked on
- does she settle or remain on guard ?
On leash she will settle when another dog approaches. She then crawls and inches { herding genetics } up to them to investigate smells etc.

Is it good with children of all ages? Not sure as doesn’t live with kids. Based on her high herding instincts we feel no younger than 8yrs old if they are dog savvy- otherwise teens. Kids need to be aware of her instincts so not as to trigger her
What ages of children was it living with? n/a. They children she has seen on walks she has been accepting and calm. We ensure they are respectful and ask to approach first.
Kids- has she been exposed to any kids ? on walks etc?- her reaction ?
From the limited times she has seen kids it has been a calm situation with a quick pet or two. Each child so far has asked permission to pet and say hi before doing so. We do not quite know if it would be a different around kids who are overly excited to see our dog.
You indicate a home with kids to keep her busy ?- what age to do you think she would do best with ? – teens?…. I think older children to teens yes – so 8+ - an age old enough to understand a dog and how to be careful with it if needed. Should be dog savvy, have a dog savvy- breed exp home. She should never be faulted for her actions of herding as they are genetic traits.

Has it been exposed to livestock or horses? No

Is it good with cats?Yes
Is it good with dogs? For the most part“- She is great off leash while we walk around through trails – will not go more than 10 feet away from us before looking back to assure all is ok –
Do certain type of dogs set her excitement/ reaction off ?- her reaction ?
We haven’t quite figured out what dogs set her off/vise versa. 80% of the time she acts submissive and rolls over allowing them to come to her. But sometimes a dog approaching her will set her off – breed, sex, situation – we haven’t quite figured out yet as it seems to be at random.

BEHAVIOURS/ PERSONALITY/ ENERGY INFO :
Any possession with food/ space/ toys towards people or other pets? Nothing like that no
Has the animal ever shown unwanted behaviours/ aggression to anyone or anything? Not aggression- but redirects her focus/energy/ targeting d/t high herding instincts and over excitement when she has too much Energy bottled up and doesn’t know what to do with it . - Most definitely a herding behavior we have noticed – if we try jogging with her she tries to herd us by lightly nipping at our ankles
Has the animal ever bitten in the past?- Not d/t aggression- herding yes and mouthing/ nipping when over excited.- Too excited when playing – or looking for our attention.
What is the animal’s general temperament? Hyper, active, energetic, protective, independent

Are there any behavioural problems? And what are causes ? Yes – D/t her energy and lack of outlets- Again – really comes back to built up energy and tension stuck in a cage for long hours. She likes to talk back if not wanting to listen- If she doesn’t want to do something (ie: a command) she can talk and bark at you as if a teenager getting mad at the parent

-Separation issues? No issues when left alone at home (i.e no barking or whining) When people are present she does want to be around and visit each person. Will bark if you she is not able to do that.

The best home for Majix: is someone / a family that is active. Her energy needs must be met.. so she doesn't get frustrated with too much pent up energy and becomes active in unwanted behaviours.
She needs a home where she will not be on her own for 9hrs a day.
Older children are possible if exp with herding breed behaviours.
A breed exp home/ someone who has exp and understands the genetics of a herding breed and not blame her for her genetics. She needs some training to know when/ where certain behaviours are ok.
A home with older kids is required d/t her herding genetics.
She would love a fenced yard, and space to run around and blow off steam. A running buddy, someone who is active for biking, rollerblading would be a great outlet for her. She will need exposure and training to learn that herding is not permitted with certain activities.
She is a smart smart girl... and is a quick learner.!! Accessing training for bonding and mental stimulation for her is highly advised.

We welcome your application for consideration .
