Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We're certain that the Golden Girls theme song was written about our very own Golden Girl, Sophia Petrillo because she truly is a friend to all. At 6 years young, Sophia found herself at a high kill shelter when her family moved and left her behind. Sadly, after so many days at animal control, this little Shih Tzu girl came down with pneumonia and spent almost two weeks at the vet fighting for her life. During that time, it was also discovered that Sophia had crystals in her urinary tract, so she is now on prescription food to control the formation of stones. Despite such a tough start when she arrived in rescue, SoP is a now a healthy little lady, though our 16lb. sweetie could stand to lose a pound or two...but couldn't we all?! Ms. Petrillo loves strutting her stuff on walks, playing fetch, cuddling with her foster family and her favorite stuffed lamb and chewing on bully sticks. She would be perfectly happy in just about any type of family as she thinks kids, cats and other dogs are fantastic but she would also be content as a spoiled only pup. Sophia is completely potty pad trained and happy to go outside as well. She is also perfectly behaved outside of a crate and would love a home where she has the run of the house once she's comfortable. Our smiley girl is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting our Golden Girl, please fill out an application at ruffstarthappytails.org.
