Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Extra Special!! Please meet SNOOPY. This is one much loved dachshund whose human mother is ill and can’t care for him any longer. She is so heartbroken to have to give him up, but we have promised to find him a new person who will love him and reap all the benefits of his training, his sweet heart and special characteristics. More pictures coming soon. But for now, imagine a 4-1/2 year old, longhaired double dapple. And unlike many double dapples, fortunate Snoopy has no vision or hearing impairments. Snoopy is particular however, and an excellent judge of character. He is well trained and will walk next to you without a leash. He prefers a harness to the collar and is always ready to go whether it is a short or long trip, a walk or a car ride. (Anyone out there with heated seats in their car?)
Snoopy is used to sleeping in the big bed (but care has been taken that he doesn’t jump and strain his back). Do you have a spot of sun? He loves to find it and stretch out and work on a tan. He’s used to being the light of his owner’s life and it may take a bit for him to warm up to the new situation – he’s a little wary of strangers, especially those wearing baseball caps. (Go figure!) So it may take a serious interview to win this little guy over, but if you do you will be the long-term winner! All medical requirements are taken care of (rabies, bordetella, DHPP, Advantage).
Please go to www.odr-inc.org and read our strict criteria and then complete our questionnaire and email it to us. We will be in touch with you as soon as we have the chance to review your application. The rescue hours for contact are 9am to 8pm. Thank you, Jenell 503-313-3220
