Jersey is a special, special soul. She is wonderful and needs an adopter who is very patient and consistent. She is beautiful, calm, quiet, house trained, crate trained, walks great on a leash, rides great in the car, loves other dogs, ignores cats, handles new situations with ease and is just an all around amazing girl. The catch is that Jersey was feral for the first 10 months of her life. She was never touched by humans and is still getting used to it. She follows her foster mom around and wants to interact but still needs some time. Jersey shy's away from petting and affection much of the time, but is now showing signs of enjoying human touch. She has great eye contact and is getting more and more social and interactive each week. She loves going for long walks, doggie daycare, hikes and trips to the dog park. She stays close and we think she would be great to be trained off leash. She has gone to the office with her foster mom many times and is very well behaved and loved by everyone. Her perfect home will definitely have another dog or two, and possibly some older children. She also needs a home that is committed to continuing her socialization. She needs to go places with her new owner and be exposed different situations so that she continues getting more and more comfortable with people. Jersey is being fostered in Birmingham, Alabama but can travel within driving distance to her perfect forever home. No one can meet Jersey and spend any time with her without falling in love and falling hard. If you are a very special home and willing to be patient while Jersey continues to evolve and grow, then you will have a loyal companion and best friend who will love you unconditionally and always be grateful forever.
