Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I have been at the rescue for the longest. I found a home three times but was returned each time. It wasn't because I was bad. Each home loved me. It's just that I need a family that is patient and understands I need time to trust people because of my past. I was rescued from a very abusive owner. I was badly beaten and my story is quite horrific. Because of my past I take time to warm up to men, especially. I need a family that is willing to let me take my time to come to them first. I have been improving ever since I was rescued though! I have learned to love other dogs and many people too. I get very excited to see the people I'm used too. Also, you'll never find me without a toy by my side. Toys are my favorite thing!
I do guard my toys and am food aggressive especially toward other dogs but again that's from my past. I still need to learn that food is something I don't have to any longer wish for. The Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation would be glad to help my adopter learn how to deal with food aggression in a safe way. Also, they think that I may be happier in a home without younger kids and where I am either the only dog or where my new parents don't mind learning a few things about by behavior. I've gotten better with men but just need any new men in my life to be very patient with me. I'm full of energy and love! The rescue has been great to me but I dream of a home to call my own.
