My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pit Crew Supporters, it pains us to have to share this story but we think it is important that we do. About 6 months ago we all endured the sudden shut-down of Rocklin City Community Animal Shelter. What most of you probably don't know is that Pit Crew worked very closely with the amazing staff at Rocklin Shelter. There were countless dogs we shared for one-another and pulled as well as countless adoptions. With that said, about a month prior to the staff being fired and the facility shutting its' doors, there was an amazing dog there named Baine. Baine is about as wonderful as they come. He is good with kids, loves every dog that he meets, tolerates cats smile emoticon, and is as close to perfect as possible, not to mention as handsome as can be. Baine was adopted out to a young guy who wanted a playmate for his female (who he adopted from the SPCA a year prior). He originally had a male too but the demise of a relationship rendered him with only one of the two dogs. His female loved having a playmate so in he comes to see Baine. It all went well and he took Baine home. His application was great by all conventional measures, and he fooled us all into thinking he was a solid guy. About 2 weeks ago it was brought to our attention that the guy was abusive to all his animals and many people as well. Apparently he would often kick them in the ribs, punch them with a full on fist in the face and who knows what else. We made an effort to obtain the dogs and he was unresponsive to our pleas.

Finally we worked with Rocklin Shelters former supervisor and she made an attempt on her end. He claimed the dogs were vicious and he wanted his money back. WHAT?!?!?!? Let's not forget that he took them everywhere with him in the beginning (to show off we presume) including his parents’ home who have several dogs as well. There were never issues. The GF returned to the picture and brought the 80lb male, INTACT, puppy with her. As it was described to us, he and Baine played for an hour and Baine was annoyed by him, AS HE SHOULD BE but nothing was done. Finally the dogs had enough... they got into a squabble and one thing led to another the female saw her chance and bit her abuser from behind. Not surprised. That night the guy got drunk and put a loaded gun to Baine's head **TEARS** claiming that "he is my property and I can shoot him if I want to!" The gf was able to put a stop to that and get Baine out of there. **Thank goodness*

Pit Crew now has Baine safe and sound. He was terrified the first day he came to us but is back to his goofy, fun-loving self. All he wants is love. All he got was beaten. We wonder how he felt...why is he hitting me? What did I do so wrong? He didn't deserve this...and it is all in the past now. He has walked with another male, played with several other dogs off leash and been with 4 puppies all over him at once...no signs of aggression. NOTHING. Just a moose of a boy who play bows, hops around, and leans on you for love and affection. Our next goal was to get the female out of there. The GF helped us with this and now she has her safe with her and this scum-bag signed a contract that he would not come within 500 feet of either of these dogs or his ex ever again. He is not to contact her or us or ever obtain another dog as long as he lives. That is not enough for us. Every time we see Baine's big smile and then he jerks away when you move in too quickly to pet him... our hearts break all over again. You are safe now sweet boy. NOBODY WILL EVER HURT YOU AGAIN. OVER OUR DEAD BODIES. If you know Baine or ever met him, then you know what a lover he is. He would never hurt a fly....unless you forced him to. Which is exactly what this "man" and I use that term loosely, did. To you "man" the Pit Bull loving community is tight. We have each other’s back. You can bet your rear that we won't let you get away with this sort of animal cruelty abuse... not now. Not ever.

For now we ask you to please not use this as a platform to vent. We ask that you support us in our goal to keep these dogs safe and out of harm’s way. If you are interested in fostering Baine, he will be looking for a foster home as well as a new home in the future. For now, he is safe and sound. Please email us at foster@pitcrew.org with any questions or concerns regarding Baine. We want to tell his story but we don't want to jeopardize his future smile emoticon
