Nova's Story...
Name: Nova
Breed: Boxer mix
Age: Adult
Gender: Male

Nova is a handsome Boxer mix boy with a lot to offer a new home...housetrained, crates well but doesn't need it, loyal, smart, and incredibly well trained. He knows many commands, tricks, and minds his manners in the house beautifully.  Nova adores his people with all his heart and loves to be doing whatever his family is doing...playing in the yard, hanging out on the couch, snuggling...he's up for it! Nova is being reluctantly surrendered because he is nervous of the baby in the home as she grows into the toddler stage. Nova needs an adult home who can continue to work with him on some leash reactivity he has towards other dogs. He has met dogs with no issue (but greatly prefers people to other canines so would much rather hang around his house than go to a dog park) but on the leash or in his home he gets overprotective and insecure and puts on a good show of acting tough and making a ton of racket to get the offending canine to go away. He needs an owner who is willing to work on this with him and to show him boundaries and rules firmly and lovingly. He is smart, eager to please, has an amazing foundation of training, and is very food motivated so working with him is easy and fun. A fenced yard would be a big bonus but is not required.

Requirements: Older kids (10 and up)

You can email with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nova, a Minneapolis Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
