Gilbert Brown is his name, but you can call him Gilbert. He is a handsome and happy guy who loves to run and hang around with his people and his canine siblings. Gilbert absolutely loves the company of other dogs, so he should have one or more four-legged companions in his Forever Home. Gilbert is a total snuggle bug who seeks your attention and love. He would happily join you on the couch and would love to sleep with you at the edge of your bed.
Gilbert was rescued last winter from a scary outside environment, and this experience created some separation anxiety issues for him. His foster family has been working hard to help him cope with and overcome those issues. Gilbert is crate trained, but he does not need a crate at his foster home, where he has earned full run of the house. If he is crated, he will need to be crated with another dog.
Gilbert is a true Springer who has a cute, happy spring. He just LOVES to run, and he's a great swimmer. He could use more training on recall, but reverse psychology works quite well on him. If you pretend to walk away, he will soon follow you. Gilbert enjoys lounging on his dog bed in his foster mom's office, and he just wants to be a part of the human and dog family. Gilbert is a good-looking guy with a small, compact build. He participates fully in multiple daily walks and other activities, and he acts younger than his chronological age.
Sweet Gilbert Brown just needs his people around him the majority of the time, as well as at least one other dog to be his buddy. Gilbert is patiently waiting for his Forever Family to find him and fall in love! If you think that's your family, contact his case managers at the e-mail address below.
Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.
Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Gilbert Brown.
