My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is such a beautiful dog and with such a nice personality!! Rankin is approx 2 yrs old and 36 lbs and looks like a schnauzer/wire hair terrier mix. He is very quiet and laid back, and became attached to my hip the minute we brought him home. He loves being where you are. He gets along with all of the dogs even the pushy ones that get in his face - he just sits and looks at them. He is not one for playing with the other rescues yet he would prefer to lay at your feet and follow you wherever you go. He slept on the bedroom floor all night and never moved until he was let out in the morning so seems to be pretty well house trained and does will on a leash. He is a little undernourished so it looks like he may have been a stray for a while, and his coat needs some supplements. We have started him on some medicated baths and lipiderm for the skin and coat to get him looking healthier and his coat thicker. This is a really nice dog and will make a good companion for anyone
If you live in MA, there are new requirements for rescue dogs - according to the State Law, all rescues have to be quarantined for 48 hrs at the Ben Elder Kennels in Westport, MA. There is additional cost for this quarantine and new required health cert by a licensed MA vet of $110. We will go over all fees with you via email. Also, The state of MA does not allow adoptions of dogs that are heart worm positive. We are required to do a foster to adopt until the dog tests heart worm negative, usually in 4-6 months after treatment.
