Red's Story...
Despite being smallish in stature, this boy, Red, has a HUGE heart. World weary, he is not! Open to everyone, and everything, he’s an absolute joy to be around – settling in to his foster home quickly, enjoying the company of his grey foster-sister, politely meeting and greeting the neighborhood dogs, both big and small, and quickly becoming a favorite among the adults and children in his neighborhood. This big heart obviously explains the almost 250 races under his belt, too! For having only just arrived, he’s settling well into retirement – enjoying walks in the park, window-shopping in Georgetown, and even discovering a love for music (seriously!). He slept through his first night, crates well, and so far, no accidents. Little surprise as well that a quick look at his pedigree revealed a lineage well-known for it's good looks and awesome disposition (Dutch Bahama, the ancestor in question). With a gorgeous red coat, soulful eyes, and a heart as big as Texas, Red is ready for a loving family. Are you the one?

Red will be available for in-home visits by approved adopters beginning 7/03.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Red, a Spencerville Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Spencerville, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Spencerville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spencerville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spencerville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spencerville paves the way for another one to be saved.
