Puffy's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Puffy's Story...
AARF adopts in Richmond, Va or the immediate surrounding area.

I am a small shih tzu mix. My front legs look like basset feet. I am a sweet boy and love everything. Children, cats, people and especially other dogs.

I stand on my hind legs when I think I can get a treat or something special. I have a pretty close cut to my fur that I really would like to keep up as it starts to grow out. After all, a guy has to look good for the girls.

I love to play with and pester the fosters at my house. I make them play with me and my foster mom has to play too.

Check me out on the web site or on Saturdays at the adoption stand. I won’t be there long.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Puffy, a Richmond Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
