Meet Snickers! He is a 4 month old tri-colored beagle pup with the sweetest face. He can give you a look that is sure to melt any heart. Little Snickers and his brother Peanut came from an abuse situation in Martinsville where he and his brothers lived in the back of an old truck. Covered in fleas/ticks and full of worms, they were lucky to be found by a Good Samaritan that rescued them and brought them to rescue. He is a typical Beagle, he loves to play and explore the yard, but his favorite thing is to be with his people. He is always the first one to come in! He likes to go for walks and he does pretty well on a leash. He does love playing with his toys but his favorite toy is his tennis ball. He LOVES to play fetch and will actually bring it back to you. Like his brother he’s a very vocal boy (another famous Beagle trait) especially when left alone so he may do well with another dog in the home or someone who can spend extra time with him. Snickers has a very gentle, sweet nature about him and he responds well to positive treat training as does his brother. He also enjoys getting belly rubs from his foster mom, but his favorite thing is to lie on the back of the couch like a cat. He’s even been known to take a nap up there with his brother and foster mom. He will lie on the couch and chew his bone making sure to have some part of him close and touching his foster mom. Snickers is crate trained and almost completely housebroken, you just have to keep an eye on him. Like most babies, Snickers is in to everything and is curious about everything so he needs someone that will take care and look out for him so he doesn’t get in to trouble. Right now, just like his brother everything goes in the mouth and he hasn’t quite distinguished between his stuff and his foster moms stuff! He has been known to steal a shoe and he has an appetite for laces so keeping stuff up and out of reach is important until he learns. He just needs someone to spend time with him and give him guidance. He loves playing with kids and he loves other dogs. He is submissive and for the most part he respects boundaries unless his brother stirs him up. He has been around cats and he plays with his foster mom’s dog savvy kitty. Sometimes he can get a little too rough but he is learning to respect boundaries and when the Cat says he’s had enough he listens. Snickers is really a great little man that bounces when he walks and will make a wonderful addition to a family that wants a puppy that can join in their lives and be with them.
