Destiny's Story...
This little girl has our hearts. Destiny was surrendered to the local high kill shelter with very little hair. She stood in the run at the pound shaking nonstop. We pulled her and took her to the vet to determine which type of mange she had. She had demodex mange, a skin infection, and was malnourished. She immediately went to her foster mom’s house and started treatment. Her hair has grown back out and she is looking for her forever home.

Destiny is around 4-5 months old and is a Catahoula mix. We are guessing her to be around 40-50 pounds when full grown. She is absolutely stunning and is a true joy to be around. She loves life and loves to enjoy it. She loves all her foster siblings (she has a total of 6 foster siblings). She has been around horses at her foster mom’s house as well. She is not afraid of them and even tries to play with them. She loves to go for rides with her foster mom, go for walks/jogs, and also just laying around on the couch. She LOVES her toys and especially the kong (especially the treats inside).

Destiny is on monthly preventative, heartworm negative, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $450.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Destiny, a Salem Catahoula Leopard Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog for sale in Salem, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog puppy from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
