IWhy Choose me?

Update 7/12: Zoey was adopted a few days ago, but her new family had to bring her back because one of the children in the family was severely allergic to her. They had just one word to describe her – “perfect” – and were heartbroken to give her up and very anxious that she find a new home. She is housebroken, non-destructive inside or out, loves car rides, is outgoing and easygoing. She lived with kids ages 5 and up, and although she was the only dog in this home, she seems relaxed around other dogs here at the shelter. Zoey is a model housedog, and if you’re fond of cute underbites, she’s got you covered there too!

Update 6/16: It was a hot day today, and several dogs enjoyed cooling off in the small swimming pool in one of the interaction pens. Zoey was thrilled to have a turn, too. She was so happy in the pool that I couldn’t resist taking her picture. I always enjoy being with Zoey–she’s a super companion with lots of smiles and love to share!

6/15: Zoey was so scared when I first met her that she was shaking. I sat with her in her kennel and then asked her if she wanted to go for a walk. She took a step forward, and as soon as she was leashed, the shaking stopped and her tail wagged. I think Zoey is house trained because we didn’t even make it to the interaction pen before she had to go. Once her business was taken care of, she happily ran to the interaction pen. With pets and praise, I soon had a new friend. Zoey was full of smiles and tail wags. She liked staying by my side and showed me that she knows how to sit and lay for treats. Later in the day whenever I walked by Zoey’s kennel, she’d run to the gate to say hello. Zoey is a great dog, and I fell in love with her. She’s already spayed and is waiting for a forever home where she can be someone’s best friend.
