My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Memphis Mickey was rescued from a high kill shelter in Memphis. He was going to be euthanized. Mickey was neglected for a long period of time and has mature cataracts which make him 90% blind. We hoped to have them removed, but because he was neglected for so long, that makes him not a very good candidate for the surgery. Mickey is a great dog, if you are willing to look past his blindness. He gets around well! He bumps into things, but he knows how to find his dog bed, food and water. You have to carry him outside, but as soon as his feet touch grass, he knows to go potty. He also enjoys walking around and getting fresh air in the sun. He sleeps a lot. He would make a great dog for a senior citizen who wants a lap dog, or a couch potato who is looking for a lap dog and doesn't mind the extra care that comes with a blind dog.
He is currently on 3 different eye medications to help him feel comfortable. He will most likely be on these the rest of his life. They are not expensive, but they do need to be applied twice a day.
Mickey's adoption fee is $50. He is neutered and has current vaccinations, heart worm negative and parasite free.
