Daisy's Story...
This young, active funny-faced gal showed up at the shelter wearing a collar, already spayed, and bearing all the hallmarks of a happy cat who recently enjoyed a great deal of love from human companions. She's got gorgeous calico-tiger markings, and a bit of a big nose, which just makes us love the way she looks at us. She has been an extremely happy, chatty, playful and sociable lady at the shelter. We're not exactly sure how much she likes to be held, because she seems to enjoy it a bit, but then either worries we might be putting her back in her cage, or sees a shadow or reflection, or a toy that is badly in need of her inspection. There is a lot of kitten in this tiger lady, who really enjoys playtime and exploring all the corners of the cat room. She would probably make a great companion for kids and other cats, and would likely be fine living with a non-aggressive dog.

Daisy is estimated to be 2 years old, is box-trained, spayed, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please). For more information on Daisy, or an adoption application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Fri 8 to 11 a.m., Thursday 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daisy, a Clayville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Clayville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Clayville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Clayville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Clayville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Clayville paves the way for another one to be saved.
