My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet Walter! This handsome fellow came to us in May from the Franklin County Dog Shelter, where he came in as a stray. Our vet estimates him to be 5-7 years old, and he weighs around 52 pounds. Walter is tan and white, and has that “grumpy old man” look to him – but don’t let that fool you… he is super sweet!

Walter a pretty playful guy, and is a very happy. He enjoys hanging out on the couch with his foster dad, especially in his lap. Walter is a very affectionate gentleman. He is still learning some manners when it comes to taking treats – sometimes he lunges for them. His teeth are mostly worn down, so it doesn’t hurt. He enjoys sleeping in the bedroom with his foster dad, usually on the floor but will sometimes get on the bed.

Walter gets along fine with other dogs – sometimes he will bark at other dogs in neighborhood, but for the most part ignores his foster sister dog. She is dominant & antagonizes him, but he normally just turns his cheek & ignores her. Of course, slow introduction is preferred with a dog in the home. Walter also seems to do well with kids, and is very gentle with them when they pet him. Since he came from a shelter, he will need a home with kids 8 years and older since we don’t know anything about his background. We aren’t sure about Walter with cats, but he should do fine - the couple times he has been around cats at the pet store, he has had no reactions, either positive or negative. Like all family pets, if there are cats, there should be a slow introduction.

Walter is house trained, crate trained, neutered, and up to date on shots. He does require daily eye drops for his eyes, and that is something he will always need for life. Walter does not require a fence… he does like to roam the yard, but would be fine kept on leash.

Adoption donation for Walter is $350. For more info on Walter, please visit this link: www.buckeyebulldogrescue.org/walter.html
