My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

5 seconds of Garol doing a little kick ball chain dance action. The once no name Pom who now goes by Garol (from the San Diego Central Shelter) is nothing short of Perfection. Garol is proof that love heals & second chances are what it is all about. This 5 second video clip says it all... Garol is pomeranian senior perfection, So - Why did everyone decline on her when the shelter reached out on her behalf. Why did they say No, not her? She is a beautiful senior Pomeranian and she needed help. Perhaps it is because of the unknown medical concerns? If so, I am noticing this happens time and time again. So, let’s think about this from another angle. Let’s embrace the unknown, full force and with love; and just for giggles, assume every animal needs medical care and then you just do it. You fund raise, you ask for help, you come together, you help each other and in turn you save a life & you heal an animal. You set a precedent for greater change. That’s what we do and so can you and then we stop band-aiding the problems & instead, we create change & offer solutions. Garol is so stoked to be alive and she is happy and healing. She had her medical needs addressed, got her teeth cleaned and is rockin' a snazzy haircut just like Puffy the poodle. Garol is kind, sweet, older and essentially perfect. Her big heart, once nappy fur, sight sight limitation, emaciation, worms and busted mouth are all treatable conditions. Let’s never forget this, as it is integral in this revolution of love & it is integral in rescue. Senior and special needs animals often have a harder time in the shelter environment.. The animals need us, we can’t turn our backs on them, and we need to remind each other that these animals deserve a second chance and we are in charge of changing society’s mind and opening hearts. Just look at Garol - she is love, perfection and most importantly, she is happy.. She has an amazing quality of life and has a radical foster family that loves her madly. senior is the new perfection!
