My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please visit our main website at www.boxer-rescue-la.com for most recent list of available Boxers and to fill out an adoption application. Due to the volume of inquiries our volunteers receive we are unable to reply to inquiries without a completed adoption application.

Rosie is making up for lost time. Before coming to BRLA she was an outside dog and did not get to socialize much or get out to explore the world. Her exposure to the elements, poor nutrition and stress resulted in demodex mange. Her owners brought her to BRLA and her real life finally began. Her mange treatment resulted in healing skin and lots of fuzzy new fur. Rosie went into a foster home that started taking her out into the world and involving her rather than excluding her and she began to bloom. She is a very playful girl and loves toys and dogs that are easy for her to make friends with. Her social skills are growing and the right humans will continue her exploration of all things good in life. She may be afraid of new dogs at first and can be a little defensive but with proper introduction once she feels safe it is nonstop and at times annoying happy play. Rosie was used to being alone as a pup and is still fine when left alone at home, but you may find a shoe missing when you come home. She is a little like a A.D.D kid. Puppies require lots of supervision so her new people need to have time for her. She is not a barker and is crate trained. Rosie is housebroken. She is catching on to lots of new things that help to make her a more balanced happy pup. She is learning her commands and sits for treats and is very motivated. Rosie is like most pups and loves to run so a home with a yard or property will bring endless entertainment watching her run in and out and around and around with toys in her mouth. She loves to go for walks and is learning so much with every new adventure. Every day it is a joy to watch Rosie transform from an attention starved mangy pup to a smart and happy young lady Boxer. She is ready now to find her very own family who will commit to training and making Rosie feel safe and loved and teach her the ways of the world.

Rosie is not at BRLA and if you would like to meet her please ask for her by name in advance so a meeting can be set up.

She is catching on to lots of new things that help to make her a more balanced happy pup. She has a ways to go and needs an experienced home with a yard for her love of romping with toys. A less stimulating neighborhood where her walks will not overwhelm her with too many new things at the same time will be best. She learns new things every day and it is a joy to watch Rosie turn from an attention starved mangy pup to a smart and happy young lady Boxer.
