My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dougie is a 7 month old Rough Coated Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. He was surrendered to Friendship because his family's original older dog did not like how playful Dougie was. For this reason he was kept outdoors, but was brought in at night and kept in a crate. He never went potty in his crate but did have a few accidents in the home when not crated. Dougie loves toys like tug ropes and water bottles. He also enjoys chewing on sticks, still being in his puppy stage. This sweet boy gets along with everyone and even on intake became a staff favorite! He is definitely food driven, is very smart and learns commands quickly. Dougie is energetic and would like a fenced yard. He enjoys going for walks and does well on leash. He was very happy being in the company of the 3 girls in the photo with him. It's probably best if kids in the family were a little older due to his energy level. Dougie likes other dogs and tolerates cats. You'd be hard pressed to find another dog as nice as Dougie.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
